Here’s the plain truth about bathroom bans: The problem they claim to solve doesn't exist. Across the country, transgender people are able to use facilities that align with their gender identity, and there’s no evidence that allowing them to do so makes anyone less safe.

Today, we took Montana’s anti-trans bathroom ban to court … again. After securing a temporary block on the law last year, we’re now fighting to strike it down permanently.

Similar initiatives will appear on the ballot in Arizona and Colorado but unlike those measures, which would broadly require schools to designate athletic programs as definitively male, female or co-ed, Washington state’s initiative applies to only girls’ sports.

There are TWO vague laws that make it a crime to publish “advertisements” about abortion. And another law attempts to block Idahoans from providing information about abortion to young people. Together, these laws make it nearly impossible to educate people about essential care.

Medically indicated abortion care is a fundamental right guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. It’s rooted in the rights to life and health, and it’s been legally protected in England and the United States since the earliest days of the common law.

So Mayday contacted the attorney general’s office ahead of time and asked for assurance that it would not face punishment for displaying the billboard. After repeated letters, emails, calls, and voicemails, the office finally responded. But it refused to promise not to punish Mayday.

As it prepared to launch the campaign, Mayday knew it would likely get negative attention from Idaho’s attorney general. The state has multiple laws that criminalize abortion health care, support for that care, and even speech about that care.
