Casey Newton @caseynewton.bsk... 3h This is one of the most-shared posts on Bluesky in the past day and it's just completely false. You might think ChatGPT is a *bad* search engine, or prefer another search engine. But it has had integrated web search since last year.

Say it after me: Chat GPT is not a search engine. It does not scan the web for information, it just generates statistically likely sentences. You cannot use it a search engine, or as a substitute for searching.

It took me a very long time to learn "do your best" does not mean "give 100% effort even at the expense of your physical or mental health" or "give A+ effort even when it is clearly not appreciated or valued". Sometimes doing your best is heating up a can of soup and going to bed early.

You know how sometimes as non-binary folks, we do the thing where we give/claim several pronouns including some to make it easier for (probably cis) people to not misgender us? I don't think we have an official term for this, so I am going to suggest we call them: courtesy pronouns.

Oh boy, I love opinions. My hot take? LLMs could have been done right. Emphasis on COULD. At the dawn of the technology, the developers could have asked "how can we get data that isn't stealing?" Sure it would have taken longer, but maybe we would have had the infrastrure...

I’m glad so many people have found my “capybara method” for how to write alt text and image descriptions helpful! However, I know conflicting access needs exist and not everyone can write their own #AltText, so here’s an ongoing thread of tools that can help. Inclusion in thread ≠ endorsement

An infographic titled “How To Write Alt Text” featuring a photo of a capybara. Parts of alt text are divided by color, including identify who, expression, description, colour, and interesting features. The finished description reads “A capybara looking relaxed in a hot spa. Yellow yuzu fruits are floating in the water, and one is balanced on the top of the capybara’s head.” Credit to Puzzle agency, original information from Veronica With Four Eyes and veroniiiica dot com

Hi #PortfolioDay ! 💫 I am Narney, a french freelance artist ! I am very well versed into DnD and OCs storytelling ~ I would loved to work for TTRPG, book covers or draw people's OCs ! 💜 Commissions infos : narney.carrd.co#commissions Contact : narney.f@gmail.com

OC Jude, taned, long wavy blond hair with 2 big braids on each side, jeweled with rings and coins in them. She looks confident, one arm up while bending some water.

Cheetah character. She is shown from behind, with a backless big dress. The dress as a very deep blue color, layers and gold accent on each of them. The front is a long white. The sleeves are a transparent pink, puffy. The character is looking down at us, over her shoulder. She has a floating crown composed of constellations.
A dark full moon/blackhole is in the back on a pinkish/deep blue background.

OCs, Ivemylla, half-elf is sitting before a long blond haired man, her half-brother : Liazar. He wears a long blue robe and a black shirt as there is a gold accent on the tip of it. He is bending over her, smiling, holding her face toward the mirror after she got ready before meeting her future family in law. One of his finger touches her lips, keeping a mark of her lipstick on it. The other hand is presenting her. Her long white hair are attached in a bun with long strand hanging under it. A lot of pearls are pinned in it, same on her transparent dress' part. She looks cold, off.
The window is behind them, showing a late day light.

OCs Lyuu (right) and Minuit (left)
Two characters are standing, facing each others. The man, human looking, is showing his back to the viewer, short brown hair, scar on the right side of his face, smiling. He wears a purple shirt, his hand is holding the face of the other character.
The woman (elf looking) is looking at the man, coming from above like she jumped off somewhere, wearing a green armor. She has long black hair, tied up as a high tail, going into smoke on the tips. She has a very tender look and smile, holding the face of the man with her hand, which is black.

Hello #PortfolioDay ! I'm Nozomi, and I mainly work on commission illustrations. I'll be open for new projects soon! You can find all of my links here: linktr.ee/Nozomi_Matsu...

A man sits in his study, contemplating a dark, box shaped artifact, while a dark spirit looms behind him.

This was a commission work done for JacenLandry

Commission work done for YeetMaur

A dark skinned man with dark brown hair and a beard framing his jaw, dressed in a white robe and dark brown pants crouches with one hand on the ground as he swings at demons with his katana. The enemy demons are dressed in red rusting armor that looks worn and damaged. The scene is set in a bamboo forest with a path cutting through it, red banners on either side of the road. It appears to be in the afternoon, with a rich orange glow streaming in between the bamboo.

Commission work done for Lemongraceful

A pale nightelf with long white hair, ghostly glowing blue eyes with dark veins framing them, and a scar across her mouth, stands facing the viewer with a fierce expression on her face, as she holds a spectral glowing blue sword hovering above her hands. She wears a dark cloak, and a dark tabard, with armor on her shoulders, chest, hips, and forearms, as well as claw like finger armor.
The background is of a ruined temple, with broken stained glass and broken statues, with blood on the steps leading up to an altar. Flowers hang from the ceiling, and ivy crawls up the ancient walls.

A girl dressed in rough peasant garb kneels in the middle of a small clearing in a dark forest, tears in her eyes as she reaches up with both of her hands. A hand reaches out from the right of the image, holding a pendant that (possibly) belonged to the girl.

This image was commissioned by Ghostfire Gaming, Art Directed by Matt DeMino
