In a comical yet kind of gross moment, a mouse ran out across an aisle in front of me at the supermarket. When it saw me, it pulled a panicked u-turn but for a second it kept running backwards on the slippery tiles before it got enough grip to overcome its momentum and head back where it started

Saturday evening I got a quick meal at Boston Common from a local vendor. As I sat on a bench a squirrel started approaching me hopefully. A (non-local?) woman nearby cooed about how cute it was and got upset when I tried to scare it away. “It’ll climb up my leg if I don’t,” I explained.

And this is a key part of e-bikes. You don't get all sweaty running errands or commuting. Going out to a ball game or meeting friends shouldn't have to be a spandex workout. E-bikes flatten hills and make hauling groceries a breeze

Guys, this is for real. Senate GOP and the administration want to pass a law that outlaws bikelanes on the 160K mile National Highway System. Imagine if adding protected bikelanes to many arterials would suddenly be against the law. Let’s not allow this.

I moved to Finland from America, where I refused to bike other than on dedicated recreational paths I drove to in my car. The stark difference showed me that it is 1000% a choice we make politically to make roads hostile for bicyclists.

Okay, that’s a big improvement! Most of my bike riding is along flat-ish roads beside rivers, so I didn’t notice how worn my gears and chain were until the chain started slipping during high-torque starts.
