Labour needed a leader that wanted to get into some fights. I didn't think that would be Burnham, but here we are. People change a lot in 10 years

I don't think this will be the trade-off that eventually happens, but if it does lead to an informed debate about how we pay for social care, it will be worth it. My guess is we end up with a social insurance model so no one has to call it a tax increase www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

AI is a complementary technology. It's going to take a few years for employers to fully grasp this as they try to replace workers with LLMs, but they'll get there eventually

Irresponsible use of AI. This only fuels widespread scepticism about the technology

Got to say, I'm a bit more concerned about the Russian agents funnelling money to some of the UKs political parties. But they tend to come over by private jet, so that's ok

My cynical guess is they go with a punishment that *looks* harsh but still gives the status quo a chance of enduring. £100m fine and 30 point deduction. It might take an appeal to get there It feels like the leniency shown to Chelsea was rolling the turf for this

I think this would end up like reallocated medals at the Olympics when the winners have been done for doping. The new medallists almost always say it's unsatisfying. They should do what the UCI did to Lance Armstrong: strip the titles but don't reallocate them

Really, if this is your politics, you have no place in a left-wing party. There is nothing at all "Labour" about this

One of the hardest things about being a parent is when your kids ask you awkward questions that you don't know how to answer. Like yesterday, my son asked me "what's the Nations League?"

Some #nufc fans complained that the club didn't just push the rules to breaking point. We're about to see if that was smart. If there's no sporting sanction from this, it's an open door for other clubs to do as they please

Trump does this all the time. He almost always gets on well with leaders in these bilateral talks (apart from that first meeting with Zelensky). It's no indication of how he will behave when next asked about Burnham by the US press www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

This is now a test of law enforcement. There is clear evidence of criminality which put lives in danger. If he's not arrested then how can the public have any confidence in the police? Does the rule of law get suspended for the far-right?
