Was going to watch Millennium Mambo (2001) tonight but was disappointed when it wasn't actually on Criterion Channel (Letterboxd led me astray). It has left me thinking that I would *love* Criterion to release a box set of Hou Hsiao-Hsien's films.

On this day in 1984, the first episode of Jeopardy! with Alex Trebek as host aired. The show originally aired from 1964 to 1975, but was revived in 1984 after the success of Wheel of Fortune. Trebek hosted the program for nearly four decades until his death in 2020. 📸 NBC

Is there even much point in trying to negotiate with the US for any sort of fair deal? As soon as they think you're going to agree, they want more. And even if a deal is made, can anyone trust the US to uphold their side of it? Cannot be trusted.
