Although they're certainly not the cheapest, MFG's EV Power chargers attached to many of their fuel stations work really well. And they benefit from being near a shop and a toilet.

I was lucky that I got my EV around the time that Octopus launched Electroverse, as it sounded like a right mess before then. The UK government has mandated contactless payments for new chargers, at least. But, so many of the charge points work as logically as pay & display machines!!

The Online Safety Act has much to answer - it's mostly only profit-making companies that can afford the time and take on the legal liability, meanwhile niche forums or little sites run by an individual in their spare time (the sites that made the web great back in the day) are forced to close.

Super annoyed that Storj.io who I've been using for remote backups of important stuff for several years now, are putting a monthly minimum of $50 on their services. I currently pay them about $6.40 a monthy, to store ~1.2TB. Now I have to find somewhere new to move everything before the 1st July.

Volkswagen have blocked third-party access to their API - news.ycombinator.com/item?id=4831... I really liked being able to pull data about my own car into Home Assistant. The automation I had set up to ping my phone if I'd left the car unlocked was really handy. And now it no longer works :(

I'm not sure this graphic from Suffolk Recycling is as easy to read as they think it is. So I'm guessing, from June, cardboard boxes and newspapers should be placed in paper bags. Eggboxes and junk mail into a household green bin. Books, shredded paper and QR codes go in commercial green bins 🤔

I'm equally enraged getting YouTube recommendations with obviously AI-generated thumbnails. I always select "don't recommend channel", but now some of my favourite channels are doing it, presumably to compete with the slop channels. Ugh. Make it stop!

GOG purchases are DRM-free, so as long as you download and store your game somewhere, you can reinstall it later, even while offline. This is useful, as GOG is losing money, presumably because they're often more expensive than the endless Steam sales and users don't fully understand the license.
