Coloring and lettering aren't just mechanical aspects of the comic that can be changed, altered or even fully discarded on a whim. They're part of the finished piece. You can have new colorings sure, but they should be marketed as side projects, never as a replacement of the original. 3/

To take an example, all these "modern" recolorings of older comics show zero respect for the work of the original colorist and just casually erase their work in favor of something else. As if coloring isn't an art in itself. It's changing a core aspect of the original story. 2/
