(though ME and fibromyalgia are common comorbidities; many ppl with FM also meet the dx criteria for ME and vice versa.)

many chronic illnesses cause pathologically severe fatigue, but I’m told ME is the only chronic illness that causes you to get worse, rather than better, with regular exercise.

I do want to say, about half of Long Covid patients meet the criteria for ME. The cardinal symptom is PEM (a/k/a/ post-exertional malaise: when hard effort gives you what feels like a full-body, multi-day (-week (-month))) hangover/ case of the “flu.”
