Calling on all grassroots organisations to apply for Flutter’s Cash4Clubs scheme! It reopens in September and can be a great financial support. It was a pleasure to visit Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care, which received a grant from Flutter earlier this year. www.watfordobserver.co.uk/news/2644187...

I am really, really worried about how little mainstream broadcasters and politicians are pushing back against explicit racism. It isn’t difficult to contextualise or challenge with facts. They manage it on other topics.

Our public libraries in #Watford are vital spaces for families to access books, magazines, film and TV as well as the internet. Liberal Democrats in Watford and Hertfordshire have run a consultation on closing our precious library on Sundays. RESIST! Keep our libraries open!

I don't speak for the whole Labour membership, but I'd be pissed off if after 14 years of opposition and campaigning for a Labour govt, we threw away 3 more years of governing for a *chance* of having 5 more years.

There needs to be more awareness of the after effects of pneumonia on the elderly. You can almost be lulled into a full sense of security that there’s been a recovery, but the decline happens just a little bit later.

I wrote about the way the SEND crisis is quietly unpicking women's lives - destroying careers, dismantling relationships, damaging physical and mental health. And all this goes on unacknowledged. Long read for The i Paper: inews.co.uk/inews-lifest...

I agree with this and it's a great policy, but I think (not least given that the speech he did give was a bit of a mess) that you actually could weave this into a something headline grabbing by making a theme of 'here are the things we've done that we just did by dint of *having ministerial office'

One of my favourite types of FT pieces is a long exploration of how a workplace operates, and this fascinating explanation of why the various attempts to reduce the long hours investment bankers work haven’t worked is a really good example:
