Think of how bad things must be for a Supreme Court Justice to feel he has to explain why it's a good idea to have laws enacted by legislators instead of decreed by wannabe dictators

In 1970 the Government owned Energy, it owned Water, it owned Rail, it owned Mail, it owned Steel, it owned Shipbuilding, it owned Oil and Gas. There was a 100% tax on these industries profits. Now many of them pay 0% tax. That is where all the money has gone.

This should piss everyone off, and our tax dollars paid for this. A massive building purchased by ICE for $70 million in Arizona to “warehouse” immigrants. Calling this “housing” is a lie. This is storage. This is treating human beings like inventory.

Why did the BBC broadcast Nigel Farage uninterrupted for 56 minutes this morning? Nobody wants this, he has 4 seats, does any other party gets this coverage? The biased people at the BBC putting Nigel Farage on day after day need to be removed.

I'm not American and I knew nothing about Mr Kirk before he was killed, so I refrain from posting on the US aspects of his death. OTOH I know Boris Johnson and I am concerned about UK politics. If this is the type of "free speech" that Johnson and the UK right wants to defend, I am appalled.

When access to guns is lax all are vulnerable. If you're a controversial shitstirrer, left or right, you're even more vulnerable. If you have openly advocated access to guns for all, there is a certain sick irony if you're shot dead. Acknowledging the irony is not enjoying Kirk's death. The reverse.

We've all experienced having to stand in a packed train while first class sits completely empty. It makes no sense to divide up our trains like this. Our railways should be welcoming, inclusive and accessible to all. It's time to scrap first class and return those seats to use.
Daily Record. Calls to scrap First Class on ScotRail as seats sit empty while commuters left standing. Research shows just 2% of First Class seats on ScotRail are used, while standard carriages are packed with standing passengers.

Very important aspect of the pull factor for refugees coming to the UK in small boats aired on the Today program. Asylum claimants who have already been rejected by an EU country, are no longer automatically barred from the UK since Brexit. Applicants coming here get a second bite of the cherry.

Opposition to a #WealthTax— brought to you by those who think workers' rights have "gotten ridiculous." What's ridiculous is the idea that someone with £15million would leave the country over £100k. That's 0.67% of their wealth, equivalent to £300 if you had £50k. They wouldn't even notice it.

Reform is made up exclusively of unserious, irresponsible, race-baiting grifters, hoping to be swept to power on a wave of vengeful ignorance and an absence of any scrutiny. If they were held to account - by papers like the Times - then maybe they’d be nowhere. And certainly not eyeing up peerages.
