(thinking about random encounters again) i think it's great when RPGs have random enemies that can seriously mess you up because suddenly not only do you need a real answer to a specific problem, that answer can, at times, be... click Run. Flee. Shit sucks, hit the bricks.

I wonder if anyones caught on to the fact that most hangups with random encounters are bc of Graphics. If random encounters were functionally the same but they were represented by a goblin showing up on-screen and scurrying toward your guy unavoidably fast 90% of ppl would be fine with them
