2026 QUESTION GUIDE
Toronto-Danforth has a lot of people asking for your vote.
Instead of telling you who to choose, this Question Guide was built to help you ask better questions about what the next councillor will actually do for our neighbourhoods and community.
Input from Toronto-Danforth residents and people with knowledge across the ward has been turned into 12 areas of questions, each with deeper questions to help you move beyond campaign promises and understand what candidates can realistically accomplish over the next four years.
Please share the guide with your neighbours. The more

Cycling activists would get a ton more public support if they avoided framing debates over things like bike lanes like this. Emphasize SAFETY, yes. Bike lanes make cities better. They can even make DRIVING better, by reducing congestion.
Invoking 'violence' in ways most people won't buy isn't it. 1/2

Wasn’t trying to take anything away from the Mayor or the origin story of the program. Just thought it was cool to share that a bunch of Toronto/Hamiton based musicians are giving back to TDSB breakfast programs, which needs all the support $ it can get! schoolweb.tdsb.on.ca/Portals/rhki...
nazing opportunity to interview Mayor Chow during her visit to R.H. Kin
Mayor Chow also expressed her condolences to Mr.
Rutherford's wife, Dorthy Kane, who also made a meaningful visit to R.H. King on the same day to meet with the Mayor, staff, and to help hand out morning snacks to honour her late husband. Mayor Chow was able to sympathize with her and shared that she had also lost her husband, the late Jack Layton, back in 2011.
The Mayor was especially touched by Mr. Rutherford's work at King because of her extensive history with the nutrition program in Toronto.
Every morning, King students are greeted by nutritious breakfast foods in front of the office, a feature that would not be in place partially without the past efforts of people like Mayor Chow. In 1985, Chow first held the position of school trustee where during her time she introduced an invaluable
initiative that helped hundreds of thousands of students in Toronto: the school breakfast and lunch program. She recognized the importance of nutri-tious, filling meals for children and decided that something had to be done so students' hunger did not get in the way of their learning. During her time as a city councillor, Chow pushed to make the program national. Now, as Mayor, she still feels the same dedication to ensuring students in Toronto don't go hungry. She shared her plans for the 2026 Toronto budget, which will have an extra six million dollars for the student nutrition program.
Beyond this, Mayor Chow sees a number of other issues that young people in Toronto are facing including employ-ment, university costs and housing costs. "So, it's really the cost of living, and how to make life affordable for stu-

TORONTOSARA EHRHARDT COMMENTED
Question 6 should ultimately be two questions. For Jones, the current
configuration is not ideal, and is not working for cyclists or transit riders. It's clear that the process, with new information emerging partway through, was not helpful. Many Toronto-Danforth residents supported the project while residents in the immediate vicinity felt concerned that information changed partway through the process. This created an adversarial atmosphere that was not helpful for the long term goal of creating a safer cycling network. However I cannot, in good faith, agree to spending money to redo work that has already been completed.
Jones will have to be redone due to the damage caused by Metrolinx heavy trucks.
When that is scheduled, I am committed to having a stronger consultation process, with all the information upfront, and arriving at a better design. For Logan and Carlaw, there was also evidently confusion about accessibility and safety impacts from the proposal. If elected, I will seek to advance a genuine community discussion, with all the information presented. Connecting the Cosburn lanes to Danforth makes sense, and I am committed to finding a configuration on Logan/Carlaw that works for everyone.

Born and raised in ‘Sauga. (City Centre/Cooksville/Erin Mills) It is a city of promise but compromised when it comes to transportation beyond a car. Long live the bloody 403 Blaming Hazel (RIP) h/t @plannersean.bsky.social

Today is World River Day and we're celebrating the power of rivers to shape our cities, communities, and ecosystems. One of the most visible examples is right here on Toronto's waterfront, where the transformation of the Don River has helped create new parkland, restore habitat, and unlock the future community of Ookwemin Minising.
Next month, join us for a behind-the-scenes look at this transformation through two upcoming Toronto Society of Architects tours.
On October 1, explore Biidaasige Park alongside, Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates Inc., the designers who helped bring it to life. Then, on October 14, learn about the vision for Ookwemin Minising, Toronto's future island neighbourhood, on a tour with Waterfront Toronto project leads Shannon Baker and Jed Kilbourne.
