The Scottish Government must publish the premature death rate of care experienced people. Without that essential baseline, there’s no way of knowing whether we’re making progress. What parent doesn't know if their children are even alive?

If the Greens are serious about ending the Homes for Lambeth scandal, they should stop adding to it, bring new homes directly into Council ownership and management, and get on with winding up the company.”

Lambeth Liberal Democrats @lambethlibdems.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
Homes for Lambeth’s recent history has included ‘no-fault’ evictions against its own tenants. Given that record, it will leave a bitter taste for all those who were affected to see the Greens continuing to use Homes for Lambeth for any purpose at all.

I fear their timid approach will result in this being the latest broken Green manifesto commitment.

Lambeth Liberal Democrats @lambethlibdems.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
The Green manifesto committed to bringing Homes for Lambeth activities back in- house. Yet instead of winding it up, the Green administration is extending the life of the company and increasing the exposure of council taxpayers.

Lambeth Liberal Democrats @lambethlibdems.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
Residents voted for change, but on Homes for Lambeth the Greens risk becoming continuity Labour: delaying decisions, following the same corporate thinking, and allowing a failed project to accumulate even greater liabilities.

Those 27 homes should have come directly into Council ownership and management, not been transferred into a company that was supposed to be winding down.

Lambeth Liberal Democrats @lambethlibdems.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
The Liberal Democrats would have wound up Homes for Lambeth as quickly as possible. Instead, the Greens are lending it another £4.37 million and transferring 27 homes into the company, despite a project that has already lost taxpayers at least £67 million.

Homes for Lambeth has become one of the most controversial episodes in Lambeth’s recent history, costing taxpayers at least £67 million while failing to build barely any new homes, creating year-on-year financial risk and for the use of ‘no-fault’ evictions against its own tenants.
