Last week I had a productive meeting to discuss GP provision for Arborfield's growing community. With thousands of new homes built and more planned, residents deserve clarity on how local healthcare services will meet increasing demand.

Great to attend the launch of Pints & Places last week, Portraits of Wokingham's Pubs. It was wonderful to see local artist Mohan Banerji's work celebrating Wokingham's historic pubs and the role they play in our community, while also supporting the work of Wokingham in Need.

Wokingham is home to many Ukrainians who are deeply concerned about wavering international support for their fight against Russia's invasion. In Parliament, I urged the Government to reaffirm its commitment to Ukraine, and that this would remain even if the US abandons them.

This week I spoke with cancer charity Maggie’s to discuss society lotteries' vital role in funding services who support people living with cancer, and their families. These funds are capped, but changes to these limits could help Maggie’s and other charities help more people.

Shortfalls in the NHS workforce could prevent the Gov's targets for early cancer diagnosis from being delivered. After chairing a roundtable with the @rcradiologists.bsky.social this week, I called for a debate to resolve the NHS workforce shortfalls, so earlier diagnosis can be delivered.

Cancer care is in urgent need of improvement, but the Gov's Health Bill would remove the mandate for NHS England to prioritise cancer outcomes over other cancer metrics. My amendment seeks to restore that priority and to secure a commitment from the Gov to deliver improvements.

I've heard from many residents that Govt departments have missed or ignored their accessibility needs. This is not good enough. I pressed the Govt to ensure people with accessibility needs can access services and get support at every stage of their interaction with Govt services.

On Tuesday, I contributed to a debate on the impact of the 2016 EU Membership Referendum on the UK. In the debate, I highlighted the concerns of businesses in Wokingham that have told me they once exported successfully to the EU but have since seen increased costs and reduced profits as a result.

The murder of PC Andrew Harper didn’t happen in my constituency. However, I have a very clear view that his killers should serve their whole prison sentences. The Lib Dems are calling for emergency legislation to ensure the killers of a Thames Valley policeman are exempt from early release.

Very few people in politics know more about social care than Ed Davey. He is right that the current system is broken and we must put families at the centre of any reforms. After so many failed attempts, we must find a lasting consensus on social care now. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

I welcome the government's consultation with the major opposition parties to reform social care. These efforts to reform it must succeed. That is why I commend Ed Davey’s positive and constructive approach to an issue he knows so much about.

Hardworking families deserve support to make the most of their summer holidays, especially with rising bills. Improving access to public transport is one way of doing this. That's why I pushed the Gov to extend free bus travel for U15s, if the scheme is successful this summer.

Last year, Thames Water dumped sewage in the Emmbrook for the equivalent of six and a half days straight. I have yet again called on the Government to put billpayers and the environment first by introducing mutual ownership of water companies. The Government must act, and fast.

Small and medium enterprises in Wokingham and across the UK are doing their best to grow despite what many see as a lack of help from the government. The Minister is right to agree that the Government must do more. I will continue standing up for Wokingham’s businesses until they do.

Of the 650 MPs in Parliament, I was lucky to be drawn as number 15 in the ballot to put forward a Private Member's Bill. My Bill would make it mandatory for the Government to update Parliament every year on its progress in delivering the targets set out in the National Cancer Plan.

Nearly a decade after the Conservatives' botched Brexit deal, Wokingham residents are still paying the price. While Nigel Farage pocketed a £5 million 'reward' for the damage he's caused, people across the UK are bearing the brunt. It's time to end the chaos and repair our relationship with Europe.
