I've been immersed in research on Reconstruction in Lousiana and it's a very difficult truth to absorb that the white terrorist movement in the South was among the most successful terrorist movements in global history. One thing I love about Walter White's characterization is that he cuts the crusts off his own peanut butter sandwiches. Hell, the fact that he makes and packs a bag lunch with a sandwich and an apple to go to work at the meth lab is a great detail.

GBBO is doing American Style Cookies which seem to be the sort of oversized, topped cookies you can get at cookie bakeries and stuff here. They’ve been very trendy in the past few years, in part due to Crumbl though their cookies are usually soft and cake-like.

Yesterday was my grandma's 100th birthday! Her hearing isn't great and her vision is not amazing, but she still has a sense of humor, lives alone (my aunt lives a few doors down), and cooks meals for herself. 100 Years! A whole century! Really amazing.

Really enjoying the new season of #GBBO so far. I like Nigella as a judge - she seems to have a much different palette than Paul or previous judges and she likes lemons and salt (same). I think she's bringing a fresh perspective, which is nice. All of the contestants this series seem great, too.
