This makes me think about Black NFL/NBA athletes. Being good at the sport was their ticket out. Not just for them, for their whole families. I think in some interviews they said those contracts changed the trajectory of their families for generations. What a responsibility& pressure to live up to!

Look I know how lucky I am with how hard my parents worked to pave the way for me and my sister. They made sure we went to good schools, were able to do music lessons, extra curriculars, tutoring, were able to pay for undergrad for us. We were totally set up for success.

Like if it takes me more than 5-10 minutes to prep? THAT IS NOT LAID BACK. In my example the only thing that takes time is chopping up the veg. Cut up an onion or two, peel and cut the carrots, dice up some potatoes. 10 minutes. DONE.

Mr. Broussard needs to check his definition of laid back. Laid back to me is dumping some chicken thighs on one side of a sheet pan, dump some veggies on the other, throw salt pepper and seasonings over it all, bang it in the oven, roast the whole damn thing call it a day. Low effort, low stress!
