the only non-negotiable for writing is you have to read. doesn't matter if you're writing comics, prose, screenplays. read. read books, articles, scripts, comics. fiction and non-fiction. read lots of 'em and never stop reading.

I had, initially, not intended to participate in FFXIV Write. But I got inspired and decided to at least challenge myself. I didn't actually submit anything I wrote, let alone post it. But I still *wrote*. I've written more this last month than I have in many years.

Black Mage is Rhea's job and she'll remain that job for all story content, including raids. I actually hope to try out all the Extremes in EC and I'll be a BLM for those as well! #BLMforLife

FFXIV's default options are so numerous and so hidden away that I legitimately am writing a guide video on it so that people can know that the default (read: AWFUL) way to play the game isn't the only way available just debating whether to wait for EC because it's likely to include new options

There’s always going to be someone better, faster, and more skilled than I. But no one is going to have the same artistic voice as mine. Creating isn’t a competition, it’s a form of communication and connection. It’s a vulnerable thing, but it’s beautiful that way.

#FFxivWrite2026 #FFxivWrite #FFxiv #lamasphene Day 26: Susurrus The whisper of rumors cause Wuk Lamat and Sphene to finally have a heart-to-heart conversation about their relationship. G|1,126 words|MAJOR Dawntrail spoilers 7.0-7.3. Wuk Lamat x Original Sphene

Excerpt from the Final Fantasy XIV fanfiction "You Are Your Own Person" by EscaFox.

Text:
Sphene shook her head in a effort to stop those ruminations. "More to the point, we have been seen together and, I'm not sure about Tuliyollal, but there have been whispers happening here." Sphene's face took on a more soured disposition. "And then there are the blatant NOT whispers," she muttered and held up a small electrope screen.

Wuk Lamat bent forward for a closer look. A lot of this technology stuff was more in Koana's wheelhouse, while she had grown up in more archaic surroundings, but her time with Sphene was helping her become more familiar. There was a paused image of a Tonawata dressed in bright yellow clothes which matched her blonde hair who immediately sprung to life as her friend hit the play icon.

"Heyyy my darling fans! Honey B. Lovely here talking about all the sweet gossip happening around Solution Nine!" the recording said cheerfully, although there was a level of saccharine grandstanding that sent an annoyed flick through one of the Xbr'aal's ears.

My favorite Reddit comment of the day: "Not even Bob Mackie popped out of the p*ssy sewing perfect princess gowns." The OP was feeling discouraged due to their lack of skill with the game Dressmaker, but I think this comment applies to any skill. (And it's a good reminder for myself.)

My current favorite YouTube trend is seeing all of these very masculine dudes try out Dressmaker and then an hour in start raving about how much they like making pretty dresses. I especially liked the one guy who said that he now has a newfound appreciation for the real life craft.

Considering that one of the themes of the Warrior Cats series is how human activity destroys the environment they live in, using the environmental-destroying slop machine for development in this game feels like a slap in the face.

So this game called "Dverghold" came across my Steam homepage. Interesting retro vibes, apparently collabing with a dungeon synth artist for the OST. The art was kinda tickling my AI-dar though, so I scrolled down to look for any disclaimers.

LRP: My biggest issue with Breaking Bad, Rick and Morty, etc is that a good chunk of the fan base completely missed the point of the characters and instead thought "I want to be like these dudes". It's just like when a dude says he loves the Joker. Instant red flag.
