A key moment of awareness for me was when I realized Allosexual folks are not joking about wanting to have sex with celebrities. It still blows my mind that that is a thing. I just think they are pretty lol #pride #ace #asexual #asexuality #aceday #acepride #grayace #demisexual #demi #aceflux

Sexual attraction is when you see a person and feel an urge to become sexual with them

Sexual attraction is not sexual thoughts, libido, sexual activity, fantasies, romantic interest, willingness to be sexual with someone, thinking someone is aesthetically pleasing

I screencapped this comment a while back and have been trying to keep this perspective so I can keep doing my best to do good and not get bogged down in the despair the fascists are trying to shove down my throat

Instagram comment screencap from user arthurhattonart that reads “I’m a psychologist who did my dissertation on the media. I always tell people - consume whatever amount of news you need to do the most good. That’s it. It’s different for everyone, but there’s a point of diminishing returns. I need to know some things to do good and make good choices but after that it’s just reducing quality of life and not helping you do more good.”

Remember that a mask does more than protect against covid. A well fitted respirator will also keep you safe from flu, measles, TB and other airborne viruses. It will keep those around you safe if you’re sick. It’s an easy way to demonstrate community care and solidarity.

Most don’t know that Claudette did it first, wasn’t a good fit as an activist/figure head as a minor, so her actions were used as a model for Rosa Parks to replicate the action. The history we learn is often simplified - the beauty of learning more history is seeing how it’s a complex tapestry.
