One of my favorite characters in my #WIP is Vincenzo, the vegan vampire. “Lunch?” Vincenzo looked disgusted. “Oh, no. Honey. Is that what you thought? Oh god no. I’m a member of VETH.” “VETH?” “Vampires for the Ethical Treatment of Humans. I’m a vegan, for god’s sake! Honestly. I’m offended.”

I would need a lot more than 300 ch to explain all the ins and outs of magic in my #WIP but essentially, each supernatural creature has their own kind of magic, with some inherently magical (like ogres and werewolves) and some able to do magic (like witches and fae). #urbanfantasy #writingcommunity

“Good morning,” he said as she opened the door and he thrust a mug of steaming black coffee at her. “I knew you didn’t have any in, so—”
“Thank you!” She took it without further comment, as though they did this all the time, and stood back from the door to let him in. “I’ve just started reviewing my notes.”
He followed her into the flat, shutting the door behind him, and joined her at the little two-seat breakfast table he’d moved over here at some point a few decades ago. “That’s tidy-minded of you.”
“Helps me figure out where I need to point myself for the day,” she said. “And sometimes helps me find connections I missed.”
He nodded. “So what have you found?”
“Not a lot,” Julia admitted. “Just trying to make sense of all the players.” She took a drink of her coffee. “This is excellent,” she commented, and he felt a swell of… what, exactly? He tamped that down as well.
