Sources tell me Danielle Smith will force Edmonton to repeal its zoning bylaw. Smith's UCP loyalist friends in Edmonton Neighbourhoods United, whose agenda lost in the last election, asked for her help, just like she helped the separatists. Local democracy is dead.

Went to a concert in downtown Edmonton tonight. Drove there. No traffic. Parked directly outside the front door. Cost $2.62 Transit would have taken 2.5x the time, with 10x the walking and would cost $12. We apply user fees to public options, and subsidize private ones. And we reap what we sow.

A lot of people assume we'll start decarbonizing once things calm down. We need a new pipeline now, but hey, once things are better, we can focus on the environment. But things are never gonna calm down. The world is going to get more chaotic every year because we didn't decarbonize decades ago.

This was not a good year for the garden, but hey, the hazelnuts are starting to be ready to pick and there's a decent number of them for the first time ever! Maybe I'll make hazelnut butter. The Arizona potatoes reliably do well in the face of my neglect. They're the best.
