I've since been shown that channel, and it's completely fine. King would probably have found it funny. The problem is without that context, it read as cheerfully saying he'll sprout clown apparel and be sent to cartoon hell, less than 30 minutes after the news of his passing.

You wanna know what the absolute worst part of this is? The real twist of the knife? Having a negative assumption of our royalty would have landed compltely true with the new Queen and her son. His successors have completely fucked up before they even started- Hence everyone greiving so much.

To explain: He worked tirelessly his entire life to stop racism, bigotry, homophobia, inclusion of the Saami, Gay priests. He was a bedrock of our social democracy. He opened doors for bishops with piercings and dreads. He was a fantastic man and the country is in mourning. He isn't even buried.

I understand "Monarch that was a bedrock foundation for a socialist democracy" seems antithetical to many, but he was. Dismissing his death when we already get dismissed daily for being "haha small place no spices" by people who won't bother learning the first thing about us, hurts.

Our King has died and I found out through someone making digital circus jokes about it. I'm flat unfollowing anyone making jokes about his death. He was a truly great man and was for over half a decade a leading point of pride in my serving in the royal King's navy.

Might be hard to believe, but I used to get second hand embarrassment so bad i physically could not watch tv interviews either- ESPECIALLY not live. Felt like someone bolted an anvil to my face the way I had to look away. Growing up in the Cringe Comedy era was pure torture tellyawhat.
