Well, a better performance overall. Still we aren't turning enough good situations into outstanding scoring opportunities. Showed some really good mettle to get a draw after the red card. Red card silver lining: perhaps now we can see a Tonali / Fernandes pivot next week?

Billionaire families have spent $1.7 BILLION on the 2026 midterms so far — a 5,200% increase since the 2010 midterms. Citizens United is among the worst decisions in history. It corrupts our system every day. Big Money is the root of our dysfunction.

And to think that in the 1980’s it was the Republicans who said it was Democrats who were too soft on defense and couldn’t stand up to the Russians. This is embarrassing. Our government should be 100% behind Ukraine and her struggle for freedom.

People are discussing how Halloween candy is so terrible these days. A reminder that alot of the candy we eat is made with women’s prison labor. Russell Stover’s factory in Kansas busses in 150 women a day via a convict leasing program to staff their candy factory.
Russell Stover has begun using prison labor to make candy in
Kansas
A Russell Stover candy factory in Kansas has begun hiring incarcerated workers through a work release program, Eoin Higgins reports in his newsletter, The Flashpoint. About 150 women are bussed in from the Topeka Correctional Facility and paid $14 an hour, but the prison keeps some of their wages for room and board, taxes, transportation, and other expenses. When all is said and done, they take home less than $6 per hour. These deductions are high, but elsewhere in the country, they're even higher: In our May series on prison
