Is to only cover games of artists we are familiar with and know, but I think that’s extremely harmful to indie and up and coming artists who we want to feature and celebrate… Needless to say, I’d love to hear how you approach these edge cases and how we as a community can support human made art.

270

Ilya and Tylor 🎥🏳️‍🌈🎲 @kovray.bsky.social · 17/04/2026

On the table. I don’t want to compromise our own integrity, but I also don’t want to offend artists that have a specific style, and all of this is going to get much more complex as the technology evolves. So the question is, how do we ensure we follow our policy? Well the easy answer…

160

Ilya and Tylor 🎥🏳️‍🌈🎲 @kovray.bsky.social · 17/04/2026

A publisher reached out to us, and the art in their game has this “AI look,” however, we were assured it’s human made, an art studio was credited and as I am unfamiliar with their work, I did run the art on the page through AI detectors, and many did flag this as AI, which just puts more questions…

240

Ilya and Tylor 🎥🏳️‍🌈🎲 @kovray.bsky.social · 17/04/2026

First regardless of the circumstance we always ask around Gen AI usage, and state our policy outright. It’s important our own values and integrity. Recently, I’ve questioned our approach.

160

Ilya and Tylor 🎥🏳️‍🌈🎲 @kovray.bsky.social · 17/04/2026

We have a policy, where we do not cover games with any sort of Generative AI. We’re in a time where a lot of the time we can see certain elements that would make us wonder or even assume that the art present is AI generated, however, I do fear offending artists and publishers with this question.
