When climate scientists say things are going to be horrendous, people find out many years later that we’re right. With this El Niño, the “find out” part will come in months.

If you're not from Western Mass, you will completely miss the dynamic that the Greater Boston area has been exploiting the western part of the state since literally the founding of the country. The Globe writes these stories about WM and the Pioneer Valley on a regular basis.

In an unsurprising twist the Last Ditch Bar shared harassment one of their patrons is receiving, and called out the “misconceptions due to the disorganization of the Globe article.” Maybe the reporting of a super niche community issue was unnecessary. IDK.

keeping kids safe from infection should matter to you, thus the tools that achieve this—from vaccines to air cleaning tech—should also matter. if you care about vaccines, fight for them; in the meantime, mask up, open a window, & crank up those air purifiers—the virus doesn’t care about bureaucracy.

Congress can’t indict people. They can have hearings and impeachment trials. But not criminal trials. Please don’t expect criminal trials and then blame democrats when you don’t get them. Midterms are step one. We have to win in 2028 and add seats to SCOTUS to hold people criminally accountable.

Wait so is my math right? Last month, his EO demanded the MMR be broken up into 3 separate shots. Now in his wisdom he wants to break those up. So instead of one shot at 12 months, Dr Trump is “demanding” babies get FIFTEEN SHOTS, given at 12, 18, 24, 30, 36 and 48 months. Amazing. It’s so stupid.

As for the equities, the Government has a strong interest
in enforcing the rule, and implementing it will also “en-

NEW: DHS's Inspector General releases a scathing report about the Everglades detention camp known as "Alligator Alcatraz." The OIG finds that the now-closed camp, violated multiple ICE standards. The OIG also confirms detainees were punished with placement in a metal cage in the Florida heat.🧵
OFFICE OF INSPECTOR GENERAL
U.S. Department of Homeland Security
Staff also reported that time spent in the small metal enclosures is closely monitored, and
detainees are not locked in, even though we observed locking mechanisms on the enclosures.
Figures 11 and 12. Small Metal Enclosures; Observed January 21, 2026

Underneath is a picture of a metal cage that is 4 feet 3 inches wide by 4 feet 3 inches long, and 7 feet 9 inches high. The cage itself is placed on a tiny spot of fake turf, and then surrounded by another chainlink fence with razor wire on top. The cage is covered by a roof, but it's entirely exposed to the outside otherwise, meaning mosquitos and no air conditioning.

NIH funds should be used to improve the health of Americans.
Far from siphoning money away from research, this partnership between @NIH and @DeptofWar focuses on research projects that will drive discoveries to improve the health of American citizens and members of the military.
Led by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, all work will be 100% aligned with our public health mission.
