Okay, hear me out. So about that witty political one-liner you're working really hard to come up with right now; what if instead, you used that energy to draw really hot smut and post it to Bluesky? Just sayin' just sayin'.

in a week that saw microsoft give activision the reins to halo and bungie pivot back to destiny, one thing has become abundantly clear: the people in charge do not have a long-term, overriding plan. they’re just reacting. the result, when times are bad, is chaos

"Things are still very chaotic," a current id Software employee who was granted anonymity because they are not authorized to speak publicly told Aftermath. "While there has been an attempt to communicate to the studios, it is still entirely in bullshit corporate speak. I still don't believe they have a clear vision for the future. The only concrete thing they have communicated is they want higher profits, and they want it now. Aggressive goals are being set that would have been unrealistic even before the layoffs. ... To say the workers within Xbox have a dim view of the future is putting it mildly. We keep thinking morale can't sink lower but the obvious incompetence of Xbox management somehow keeps driving it down worse."
This mirrors shifts in strategy that have come to dominate the still-new Sharma era, including others outlined Tuesday. Rare is joining Activision, Turn 10 and Playground are fusing, and—most gallingly, considering their history—Obsidian is being folded into Bethesda to work on Fallout instead of its own original series. As with the previous round of layoffs, details betray Microsoft's haphazard approach: A Halo developer got promoted and laid off in the same week. Gears of War: E-Day's story director is out of a job days after celebrating that the game had gone gold. Hellblade developer Ninja Theory, now without a buyer after a brief glimmer of hope, is once again on the chopping block.
All of this betrays a simplistic mindset that does not accurately reflect the reality of game development: People are disposable, studios are interchangeable, and series can be traded like sports teams. Nothing matters more than franchises and their money-printing prowess. Unless, evidently, you are Hideo Kojima, in which case Microsoft suddenly has money to burn.

No no no. Turns out, the true first step to making good art -and really hear me out on this one- is being horny. That's what I've learned in the last year. All the best artists are out there making mind blowing smut while you're sitting here crying about how Ocarina of Time Remake looks too detailed

KookaNova / Aurasonic Nebula @kookanova.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

The first step to making good art isn't picking apart what you don't like about everyone else's art. In fact, it's actually all about what you do like and what you do want to say. It has very little to do with what you don't like and don't want to say. Funny how that goes.

The first step to making good art is not having a moral panic on bluesky about something you heard was in the background of a documentary you didn't watch and then miming on it.

IMAX has announced the original Star Wars will be released in IMAX 70MM for the first time next year, alongside Star Wars: Starfighter. And yes, seems to be the ORIGINAL version of Star Wars. Like, the actual, original version. From 1977.

Star Wars 50th Anniversary Re-Release and Star Wars: Starfighter to Receive

Coveted IMAX 70mm Film Releases in 2027

Disney and Lucasfilm Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Star Wars with the Iconic Film’s

First Ever Release in IMAX

Star Wars and Star Wars: Starfighter — both the original and very latest films in the iconic saga that forever changed cinema — will be presented in IMAX 70mm film upon release in 2027. The upcoming releases will mark the first time fans can experience the Star Wars universe in the gold standard film format, which is experiencing surging popularity among fans worldwide.

Star Wars will be presented in IMAX for the first time ever — in digital or on film — as part of its highly anticipated anniversary re-release on February 19, 2027. The newly restored version of the 1977 original will also be shown across a select number of IMAX 70mm film locations.

On May 28, 2027 — the 50th anniversary weekend of the original Star Wars — Lucasfilm will release Star Wars: Starfighter, an all-new standalone adventure from director/producer Shawn Levy (Deadpool & Wolverine, Stranger Things) and starring Ryan Gosling (Drive, Blade Runner 2049, La La Land, The Place Beyond the Pines, Barbie, Project Hail Mary) as Kade Auberon. The Filmed For IMAX release was shot with IMAX-certified cameras and will be converted to IMAX 70mm film prints for release in a select number of IMAX film locations. As described in details shared at this year’s D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, when a cynical rogue is confronted by his mysterious past, he is hurled into a dangerous adventure across the galaxy that puts him on a crash course with destiny.

Star Wars: Starfighter also stars Matt Smith, Mia Goth, Aaron Pierre, Jamael Westman, Daniel Ings, Flynn Gray, and Amy Adams. The film is written by Jonathan Tropper, produced by Shawn Levy and Kathleen Kennedy, with Ryan Gosling, Dan Levine, Mary McLaglen, and Josh McLaglen serving as executive producers.

The irony of Bluesky is that I hardly have AI on my mind for months, I hardly hear anyone talk about it, and then I open BlueSky and people are obsessing over every small mention of AI here and there. Frankly, I'm done seeing it. I don't care your purpose, I'm not wasting my attention on it anymore.

This "just leave people alone" attitude separates us. You should say hello to people on the street. Hello, with a wave. It's totally normal and pleasant to acknowledge each other's existence. Anti-social behavior encourages dehumanization. Stop celebrating it. Quit coping with life, just live it.

Game devs, your job is less stable at Disney than it is in a tiny indie studio that may make nothing off their next release. At least there, if you get success, you get to ride the benefits of the success. I mean goodness, at this point, you're probably better off on your own.
