Lokians are the most common NPCs found in Demon Tides! They all wear masks to hide themselves from the ever-present gaze of their tyrant in the skies! It's also quite a clever way to make NPC diversity a lot easier as a small dev team! 😜

Ever heard of Archipelago Randomizers? It randomizes items across different games and you (and your friends) need to try sending items to each other from one game to another. It's wild! And Demon Tides has an Archipelago mod I'll link below.

Bubsy 4D was good, if a little short. And then they released a whole set of even tougher B-side levels as a free update. Same engine and developer as Demon Tides, but Bubsy officially has a Good Game now.

RE OoT: The longer I sit with it, the more I like it! It's maximalist without losing readability. It's realistic while still clearly stylized. It's also occasionally uncanny and weird, but that makes it interesting to me? I want to experience something different like this, it makes me curious!

"Parallax Occlusion Mapping" is a nifty trick to add physical detail to textures using heightmaps without adding more geometry! it's a common trick to fake depth on terrain for rocks/peddles/dirt etc!

Unfortunate how many reveal/story trailers were relying on genAI during Gamescom's ONL. People already disliked CGI-only trailers for being potentially deceiving, but at least there was artistry behind it. GenAI trailers are both deceiving & creatively bankrupt. Chat clearly reacted poorly to it!
