increasing/decreasing damage is a lever I recently came to appreciate while playing Mina the Hollower. That game just completely whooped my ass until I decided to just crank down how much damage the enemies could dish out.

For years I've seen certain kinds of anime fans reject the idea that there are strong themes in these stories, which is so wild to me. These people are writers and often perfectionists, I promise you they think really hard about this shit.

Both Naruto and MHA had a story beat where a doctor says "if you keep doing this the damage to your hands will be permanent." Probably just a fun little coincidence. Togashi wrote his hero to have harmed his body so thoroughly that he'd never use Nen again. Which probably means nothing.

I like when battle shonen manga have their protagonist need to learn a more healthy way to use their skills after discovering that their temporary boosts of power do permanent damage to their bodies. Which has absolutely no metatextual meaning, of course.

"In the original series your last name is Soryu. In the rebuild it's Shikinami. Both are named after Japanese ships that were sunk in combat. Perhaps in the third reboot your name could be Asuka Executor Langley, after Darth Vader's infamous Star Destroyer." "Shut up."

A photo of toys. The photo features a toy of Comic Book Guy from The Simpsons and Asuka from Evangelion. Comic Book Guy is leaning into the frame, hovering just over Asuka's shoulder. Asuka has an annoyed look on her face.

What material would you say the pipes in the Mushroom Kingdom are made out of? One assumes they're metal, because pipes, but they are also this very bright green. How would they look if they got older? I'm asking because I messed up some parts while sawing and filing and I need to fix it somehow. 😂

This new story so far sounds a bit too close to Aaron's arc tbh. if the Turtles are "on the run" again. I liked it when they had the opportunity to settle down.

Cute that the show is so much about Vision and the events of Wandavision and yet can only adress Wanda's actual death in a movie written by someone else as a punchline. I guess that's fitting for a comic adaption though, the slow solo stuff trying to make sense of an event crossover.

It still does that modern superhero thing where the hero fights in his civilian outfit and only changes into the real suit occasionally. Which is sometimes cool and sometimes annoying.

So first two episodes of Vision Quest were pretty fun. While I enjoyed Agatha All Along, it's nice to have a "tv" show about the movie characters and not a spin-off of a spin-off with an entirely new cast. Bettany is still great, wonderful hearing Ultron again.

Well, for reasons that I completely understand, Orks do not (yet 😎) have a place in the official Gaslands setting….so my enthusiastic fellows are not in consideration for inclusion in the 3rd edition book. That stated, here is a photo I took of an (unofficial) Gaslands Ork:

A 20mm Ork with driving goggles and gloves gleefully driving his modified red Korvette Stingray off a jump that has an Amerikan flag painted on it over some rocks and two wrecked cybertrukks (presumably that failed to make the jump at some point because….they suck)

Anyway, Rinoa is in a coma ever since fighting the sorceress the last time so Squall decides to walk half the lenght of an entire ocean-crossing railway line by himself. Like, seriously, it's a bridge between CONTINENTS!

Well then, back to the plot. After beating the megalomaniac witch queen it turns out... she wasn't really herself but possessed by a witch from the future. Who's using her to get access to the lady who also has time travel powers so she can do time travel inception, I guess.

Under a grey sky among the ruins of an old stone house the sorceress Edea tells me that the actual big bad is another sorceress from the future called Ultimecia
