It is *incredible* that the world is just watching these dorks creating new technology that doesn’t really give anyone much that they actually want or are willing to pay for, which is also an amazingly destructive tool for helping low-skilled people to commit cybercrime.

I know we do this like twice a day but this alone is among the most impeachable shit imaginable
President Trump demanded that the Justice Department intervene in the Alaska Senate race, acknowledging directly how he has harnessed the agency to carry out his wishes. “I’m the one that said do it,” he told reporters on Friday.President Trump said on Friday that he directed the Justice Department to block certification of the coming Senate election in Alaska if the Republican incumbent were to lose by a narrow margin. The highly unusual move heightens concerns from election officials and Democrats about Mr. Trump’s efforts to undermine the midterm elections, and at least one election expert said he expected the courts to reject the lawsuit.

Half a squash ball, if you happen to have one you can halve. It might be in that drawer with the 13 amp fuses that might or might not still be good, and the loop of string with some odd keys that probably lock something you'll need to open the day you throw them out.

The idea that the BBC thinks it can make significant savings by cutting a station *that only broadcasts existing material* is mind-boggling. It strongly suggests that the problem isn't R4Extra, but irrational decision-making further up the hierarchy.

“The end of acute infection is not necessarily the end of the disease”. I very much appreciate this comment in Nature highlighting the role of infectious disease in the development or exacerbation of chronic disease. Vaccines can prevent chronic diseases, which is often overlooked.
Screenshot of the first page of the article that says :

Acute infection as a driver of chronic diseases and the unsung benefits of vaccination
In Su Cheon, Mark T. Esser & Jie Sun
• Check for updates
Acute infections can leave durable biological imprints that alter host physiology, chronic disease susceptibility, long-term health and even biological ageing, well after pathogen clearance.
Vaccines should therefore be evaluated not only on their ability to prevent acute illness, but also on their efficacy in preventing or mitigating these long-lasting biological imprints and infection-associated chronic conditions.
