My broad, gen claim is: public admission from a "reformed" perp who w/holds victim details (+other context clues) is better than it being discovered via 3rd-party. Yes, ppl will want details, but there's the sole statement & no follow-up/Q&A. If there's a contradiction here I'm missing it entirely.

It's rather moot because we're discussing a hypothetical but, in short, the 2nd-most right thing to do--1st being to not rape!--is to own up to it. If the victim had asked him not to, that changes things, but we can't know that w/out the victim coming forward (which I do not expect in the least.)

No? Public admission doesn't require saying who he did the heinous act to, just that he did. I've only agreed that psycho fans try to doxx regardless of revelation context. But, by doing it himself and withholding those details, they'd have little to act on. Sadly, that is not the case now.

They would recognize him, yes... as would anyone else who knows his involvement in someone's life at any point. If the victim told anyone, then those who know could put 2 and 2 together, absolutely; but, if they were told in confidence, I don't expect they would doxx the victim.
