(1) To what extent does Glaze yield the effects observed from art therapy? (2) To what extent does Glaze yield better outcomes than non-digital art therapy programs? (3) To what extent can the above findings be attributed to specific design optimizations of the Glaze app itself?
A drawing of a painter's easel, with the words "Assessing the Effectiveness of the Glaze App in Therapeutic Contexts" written on top. The easel lists 3 questions:

1. To what extent does Glaze yield the effects observed from art therapy?

2. To what extent does Glaze yield better outcomes (in terms of motivation and mental / physical health) than physical (i.e., non-digital) are therapy and "art on prescription" programs?

3. To what extent can the above findings be attributed to specific design optimizations of the Glaze app itself (instead of the "lower entry cost" of using digital art platforms)?

“Our work has never been more important than it is now.” Powered by that simple refrain, in 2025, we fought harder. By strengthening our resolve and our partnerships, we discovered new and better ways to help organizations address critical problems, maximize their impacts, and build new capacities.
An image of a puzzle consisting of 4 pieces. On the top left, a green puzzle piece with the word "Knology" written on it is is being fitted into the 3 other pieces. These other pieces also have accompanying text. On the top right, a blue colored piece reads "Maximizing Impacts: Filling gaps in children's learning; Reducing barriers to access." On the bottom right, a purple piece reads "Building Capacities: Building programs with system-impacted people and communities; Improving support for bereaved children and families." And on the bottom left, an orange piece reads "Solving Problems: Strategies and practices for improving organizational trust; Steps to building more equitable communities."

✴️ Transparency: The data LLMs train on is not always clear, and there's no way to know why responses to the same prompt may differ. ✴️ Benevolence: LLMs tend to agree with and flatter users, which means they can act more like an enabler then someone who genuinely has our best interests at heart.
A graphic titled "Is AI a Trustworthy Research Partner?" At the center of the graphic, a robot points its hands at 4 different text blocks, which are titled "Transparency," "Reliability," "Competence," and "Benevolence." The text for each block reads as follows:

Transparency: The source data LLMs train on is not always clear, and there is no way to know why responses to the same prompt may differ.

Competence: LLMs do not check facts by default, and researchers now believe that hallucinations are inevitable.

Reliability: Due to the complexity of statistical models, LLMs may give different responses to the exact same prompt.

Benevolence: LLMs tend to agree with and flatter users, which means they can act more like an enabler then someone who genuinely has our best interests at heart.

In a presentation with our colleagues at Thanksgiving Point during this year’s Association of Children's Museums conference, we shared a theory of change for Museums for All, a nationwide initiative aimed at making museums and other cultural institutions more affordable.
An image of Knology's proposed theory of change for the Museums for All program. The figure consists of 5 interlocking boxes. On the left, 2 boxes called "Being Inviting" and "Being Welcoming" show the kinds of implementation practices likely to promote achievement of participating institutions' goals. A single box in the middle of the figure called "Achieving M4All Goals" is linked to 2 other boxes on the right. Called "Cultivating Partners & Funders" and "Improving Trust Perceptions," these rightmost boxes show the broader impacts that flow from achieving an institution's goals through the program. A block of text to the right of figure explains how the different parts of the theory of change fit together in a cyclical fashion.
