I have to say, it really is annoying that a mayoral candidate just blithely feels it's alright to engage in trademark infringement. Oh, it's a big company, so it doesn't matter? What about when it steals from small creatives with distinctive works/styles? Theft is theft.

I am watching tonight’s mayoral debate and I’m just livid at the cluelessness of a couple of these candidates. And yes I’m yelling at the tv. Sigh.

Just finished watching the Shetland Wool Week evening with Helen Robertson, and she mentioned she's been trying to convince them to do an on-line version of it. This would be the only way I could attend SWW, so I *really* hope that becomes a reality.

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival—for the first time, we do not have mooncakes because we didn’t make it to T&T at all. I feel a little low at all we’ve missed this year.

Thanks, Terri -- and yes, I've seen Reverie mentioned a lot, but it's always better to get a rec from someone who has actually been to the salon.

I remembered you went to a barber -- yes, I'm looking more for a stylist who can deal with the cut I think I want.

(As an aside: I was burned by some horrific cuts and terrible attitude at a couple of places here in town, and I've seen, doing some searching, that I was not alone. But it took me a long time to go back to a salon. Loved the hairdresser and staff. So part of me is kind of panicking.)

Guelph peeps: I haven't been to a hairdresser since 2019, getting partner to do my undercut and I've just been trimming the rest. But I think it's time. I loved my Waterloo hairdresser, but I don't want to do that drive. I'd love some recommendations for Guelph.

Something my partner does every year is this challenge to raise funds to fight kids' cancer(and support Sick Kids' Hospital). He's behind in fundraising because of looking after me and my mother this year, so if you can help him in his goal, I'd be so grateful. greatcyclechallenge.ca/riders/RobLee2

Bless the folks at Sweet Violets in Guelph -- we've been so busy trying to empty my mum's house before the closing date that I just forgot to order some flowers for her birthday. Stopped by Sweet Violets and in under 15 minutes we had such a lovely arrangement for mum.

Thank you so much. And yep, I see a lot of people having a 2026 at the same time. As Rob said last night, it's not the worst thing that happened this year, but it just seems to be one thing on top of another and we are totally zapped of energy.

ISTG, in all the year's I've been with my partner (many many many years) last night was the first time I'd ever heard him say that he was a bit discouraged. 2026 just never ends. (But he did say he felt better about it all this morning, so there is that)>

I've been mostly offline recently and will likely be offline a lot going forward, because although we have many hands, there are many details to grab onto in any given moment. And my mum is, understandably, unconsolable and we need to make sure she's okay (well, as she can be right now).

It would help if I could word today. I know I can make fingering weight i-cord. But would it be a good substitute? I think I might try it.

I'm still a bit nervous being out on it (long time since I was a cyclist), but the more I go out, the more I feel the freedom of being out of the house. I love the assist -- some days I need less, some days more, but it means I can move!

This really hit home -- the e-bike was a two-fold decision, one, the doctor wanted me outside/exercising more and suggested this would be a good way to do that and run errands. At the same time, we were talking about whether to replace my very old car or not. E-bike was the replacement :-)

Thank you for this -- I just got an e-bike on doctor's advice, and I was feeling like I wasn't doing well with it because I need to use a curb to stop/mount/dismount. This makes me want to keep going with it :-)

Sigh. I bought eyes for the Derpy I'm making for my GD. I bought them and they were sitting here on my desk and now? I'm ready to put eyes on and I cannot find them. I see that Chateau Bornais has ONE set left, and I will be making a bee-line for their booth at the KW Knitters' Fair tomorrow.

I really love a tea called Pu’erh Treasure. It’s pu’erh with dried ginger, dried orange peel, some kind of dried berry, and licorice root, which I’m not supposed to have. Next up is dried orange peel. I’ll just make my own blend.

Okay there is no brown on these, they’re all just lovely buttery yellow. Costco has boxes of organic Canadian ginger for $9.99, and I dried it. Mostly to add to tea. It was really lovely.

So, I *am* a K-Pop person and I still didn't think the movie was for me. And then discovered my GD was obsessed with it. And told me I should watch it. So we did, and now I'm making her a Derpy for her birthday. Along with some other really good girl-power books for the gift.

He gave me a cortisone shot to relieve the pain, and we reassess in five months. In the meantime, continue with physio and see how it goes. I suspect another knee replacement will be inevitable, it will just be a matter of how long can I hold out.

As for my actual knee issues -- doc described how a meniscus tear is actually a symptom of arthritis (this happened with my right knee). New x-ray showed arthritis has progressed. The question: can I recover from the tear and get back to where I was, or is this the downward slide towards surgery?

Well. Some good came out of the AC strike -- for me. Got a call from the surgeon's office yesterday to say, it's short notice, can you make an appointment tomorrow? I mean, yes? Who turns down a specialist appointment. Found out the reason talking to the doctor.
