The "social contagion" thing drives me screaming angry. When I was young I had no clue trans ppl existed. I'd never met anyone trans. I saw cruel caricatures in pop culture occasionally. When I realized trans was a thing someone could be, it hit like a lightning bolt. My life felt newly possible.

The longest fight was getting alt text accepted on a signature but it needed a tag and the first time I made the tag it made three nested tags and while all of them had alt text it didn’t pass the accessibility test. So I started over and managed to make it work somehow.

Some states have universal programs that not only cover their VFC-eligible kids but everyone else as well, and those states also purchase vaccines through the same CDC mechanism. So no one can order VFC COVID vaccine, and some can’t even get any COVID vaccine for their kids.

Fun fact: universal pediatric programs have ZERO COVID vaccine, because it all comes from the same CDC ordering process. So aside from this being a huge equity issue across the whole country, multiple states just don’t have COVID vaccine for kids.
