Our schools are more geared towards preparing us as a labor force instead of preparing us to live independently as part of society, but it wasn't only like that. I feel like if we went back to that, we would have a far more stable society with more competent and confident adults joining workforce.

It feels weird knowing I only know how to be an adult (cooking, cleaning, mending, basic household maintenance) because I had weird special interests. I was 15 knowing this stuff, most of my friends wouldn't figure it out till after highschool. Why don't we prepare teenagers for adulthood anymore?

We really should bring Home Ec classes back for all students, not just as an optional elective. I just taught myself how to use a sewing machine today, at almost 21 years old. My mom was baffled because she learned how to use one in Home Ec in middleschool.

I personally only have experience using the Nightshade program to protect my art. But it's also worth looking at Meta rn in regards to AI art theft as their AI is stealing the work of any artist who posts on Instagram or Facebook to create image generators and filters among other things.

I don't have links on hand at the moment, but there are lots of articles out there about the various programs designed to protect artists from AI stealing their work, as well as multiple online communities and newsletters dedicated to following the topic. It's worth going down a research habit hole!

Generative AIs used for "art" are trained off of artworks found online, this has been proven many times by artists using scrambling codes embedded in the image files of their art to poison these AI and forcing programmers to start fresh.
