Ugh, just saying, but there are too many bots on bluesky that ask stuff like this, in nearly those exact words. Generally speaking, authors have communities they rely on for this in the modern age, most of whom will help for free, with no limits. You're better off advertising actual editing services

Honestly, considering how easy it is to get into writing in the first place, anyone who uses AI to write is both lazy and incompetent. Both of which are *massive* skill issues. And AI is *ass* at editing. I've looked into it, it costs *more* than a human editor for absolutely trash quality editing.

I'm sure it's plausible that an "AI" could write something that would trick me. The answer to this going forward is to immediately blacklist any writer who admits to using "AI" upon first mention of it. Like a plagiarist. They will of course admit this because people who use "AI" cannot do otherwise

Kek. Funny enough, I caught them posting this to my door despite the signs. And I offered them some coffee because it's cold out and I'm a nice guy, I didn't want the frozen looking grannies to get sick. They quickly flagged down a cab that they had waiting for them and fled.

Some Jehova's witnesses put a brocher about their god through my door, despite multiple signs on my door stating that I am a hardcore smut author, and to bother me at their own risk.

This also isn't the first time.

A short blurb from my discord server and the others I've posted this on to help motivate people.

You know? A lot of people told me that being an author takes *talent*. That if you aren't born with some unique and special skill, or some insane gift for the written word, that you'll never make it as an author.

I call bullshit.

Being an author does *not* require talent. It is not an art, it is a discipline. it requires *determination* and the sheer, single minded *drive* to just hop in a word processor and at least *try*, every single day.

Maybe 100 words. Maybe 50. But just *try*.

And when you finally look back on yourself, several years from when you started, you'll find that you have improved by leaps and bounds, and realize that you have become an author already.

So when people tell you that you can never make it as an author, or demand you give up, tell them this: "Sounds like you have a skill issue."

Because they are only projecting, and trying to gatekeep so that you can't surpass them, while relying on what they believe to be the equivalent of a genetic predisposition for writing.

I mean, how lame is that, right?

If you post art, and I like it, I may ask to commission you. That's how people have done it for years on sites like this. If your website conflicts with what your bluesky shows you're drawing, I'm going to ask if you accept commissions for what you've drawn, even if your website says you don't...
