Tomorrow (today, technically) begins my third year of watching a horror movie each day of October. Might actually manage to watch and post before midnight each day, but, if not, remember that for me that the next day only begins after sleep.

Long work day and various other things meant I was way behind, but finally got caught up on the PAC tribute and cried a bunch as expected.

Watched a movie before bed, made me feel things (positive, but also not). Alas.

Realized I needed to get this done as I will not be in the mood or have the energy to figure it out tomorrow....also opted to tweak my categories a bit to give myself more flexibility. Have my list of categories ready to go for Thursday, excited for another year of new to me horror movies!

Giancarlo Dittamo posted this tribute to PAC on X:

Two weeks ago, we set up a little room to film interviews for Andy's memorial. Nothing fancy. Just a camera, a chair and a place where everyone could speak from the heart. No characters. Just people talking about someone they loved.
I sat across from Ben as he prepared to speak about Andy.
He came in. He knew exactly what he wanted to say. He sat down, delivered it with an emotion I had never seen from him and then immediately apologized and asked if he could do it one more time.
And there we were sitting across from each other, both crying. He kept apologizing. I kept telling him,'
"It's ok. This is all fresh. There's
absolutely nothing to apologize for right now.'
But he just wanted to get it right. He wanted it to be perfect. Not because he cared about how he looked on camera but because he cared so much about the person he was talking about.
I think that's what I'Il remember most about that moment. Here was a man who spent so much of his career protecting this Bastard character of his, sitting in front of a camera trying to find the strength to just be Ben and even when his heart was breaking, he was worried about getting it right. That's who he was.
I keep going back to that room two weeks ago. Two people sitting across from each other, crying over someone we'd lost.
Never in a million years did I imagine I'd be sitting here just two weeks later, trying to find the words to talk about losing him too.
And here I am, sitting here trying to write something perfect about someone who always wanted everything to be perfect. But I don't think I can.
I wish I could tell you one more time that you have absolutely nothing to apologize for and you were truly perfect. The perfect wrestler, friend and co-worker.
Carlo.

Not sure how many bites I'll get on this, but on the off chance people see this and want to assist....what are some horror "categories" I can throw into the randomizer this year for my daily horror movies in October? (Werewolves, Vampires, Haunted, Slasher, Body Horror, Witches, etc.)

Cover of "Because of You" by Ne-Yo

Photo of Ne-Yo looking down while wearing a hat, with only his face visible. The picture is in grayscale and does not really stand out much. Across the top is written the artist name (top left half, in a bronzeish color, "ne⬩yo") and album name (smaller font, "because" then, below, "of you" in plain black text).

Emi Sakura's post about PAC is breaking my heart

The first time I spoke with him was in Ireland in 2018. When you're living in an English-speaking country, Japanese suddenly reaches your ears in a startling way. Our conversations always started with his "Otsukaresamade-su." Backstage, I wouldn't sense his presence at all, but then those words would arrive right by my ear like the wind. And so I'd search for him. There's no English phrase that translates it just right—its meaning encompasses hello, long time no see, glad to see you, good work, goodbye, good night, see you later, and all sorts of other things rolled into one. I think it's the kind of greeting that comes from the way he's confronted pro wrestling in Japan. It's time. As always, I grab my bag and climb into the car. I can't believe the show goes on. Today and from here on out, forever, I know I'll keep straining to listen. Thank you, PAC.

Took hours to find a postable version of the tribute I wanted, but here we go: AEW Dynasty 2024, after losing to Okada. The moment the "HE'S OUR BASTARD" chant was born, and Pac, while still a heel and still in character, staying in ring long enough to get his flowers. #Wrestlesky

And how much we loved what we did and how serious we took it. All we want to do is spend our days creating, doing what we born to do, and then be home with our loved ones. A thoughtful, kind man who was so humble it was frustrating in the most lovable way. Sleep well, ya bastard.

My favorite memory is us at a hotel coffee shop and we talked about our respective crafts. And how regardless of the situation or how we felt that day or what was going on around us, we had to perform and give 100% because that’s our name on our work…
