Liquidambar leaf palette. This tree puts on such a stunning show in October. If you know of one growing near you maybe go and visit it -they look like a sycamore or maple that’s part of a Pride parade…intense leafy dopamine fireworks 🍁:

we used to be an internet... A REAL INTERNET!!!!
Reddit post from r/AskReddit titled, "URGENT! Need to know right fucking now: Is it safe for octopi to drink beer? Stout in particular". The post includes edits explaining that the octopus seems okay, but that the user replaced its containment rock with a cinderblock, and that the octopus later inked the tank before the user went to sleep.

The image is of a four panel comic. The title is "Satanic Ritual".
In the first panel we see a little red devil in a bubble bath.
In the second panel we see the devil with a towel wrapped around its head, standing in front of a mirror doing gua sha.
In the third panel we see the devil putting on a face mask.
In the fourth panel we see the devil wearing the face mask sitting on its bed watching a show and drinking a glass of wine.

That is fascinating. Such a clever idea to go looking for DNA in that context.

Stiltchild & Friends are ready for freedom! With the arrival of much cooler weather, the orphaned crane colts seem to be feeling the restless pull of migration. We are scouting daily for local, gathering cranes. As soon as we can find a group, our kids will get their true second chance! 🪶

I think this is it. It's indoctrinating young men into consent not being a thing, and that they're entitled to do what they want to the bodies of others. And if the definitions of sexual assault are real, then they've been assaulted, and they can't cope with that reality. So better join in then.

From his granddaughter - "(they) grew up in misery and her father had to beg for money from the artist. They rarely saw Picasso and would have to wait for (4-6) hours at the gate of his house to be received." "... he drew flowers for them on a piece of paper, but they weren’t allowed to keep it."

No complacency from our leaders and none from the rest of us either. Bug everyone you know to vote, and then keep bugging them. Social norms, babying oppressors, and not making scenes got us here. Babies are born screaming, and so is every other good thing.

Show Snag some love. Not only have they made size inclusive ballet tights (and believe me, that’s hard to come by), they made the primary image a wheelchair using dancer. They make lots of other things, too, but I can vouch for the tights. snagtights.com/products/120...

Her flower paintings are absolutely gorgeous. And I love her hand painted woodcut prints. It's so interesting how she spoke about Indigenous art too. I wonder how the artists and communities felt about it at the time. Her appropriation of their work is clearly not okay.

Is he Autistic? I think that's it for my husband. It's like the thing - if you hide lollies in a pencil case and ask a kid what people will think will be in it. Autistic kids typically say lollies because they saw them. Autistic husband thinks I can hear him because he can hear himself. 🫠

He did shut up very quickly once he realised how fucking clueless he was. But it derailed the whole meeting for a while and made it tense and unpleasant for no reason. I'm not against asking about how $ are spent. But you need to inform yourself first, and then don't be a dick about it.

One guy demanded to know why there was say $100 going to running costs, and 'only' $70 being given out to people. He clearly was there just to ask that and thought he was onto something. They legit had to stop the meeting to explain the very many services they run besides giving out $$$ to people.

Yes!! I loved that in the podcast they walked around town, including to the museum. I can't remember where they said the garden with plants that can be used as dyes is. I'd so love to see that and hear about them all.

I’ve been watching clips of Anne Carson pop up on my feed. She is the Canadian author who was just awarded the Nobel for literature. In every single clip, she exudes a dark and nasty aura. Am I missing something here?

And yeah, people with Type 2 diabetes might need less meds with the right balance of exercise and nutrition for their bodies. But it's less, not necessarily none. And it's also a genetic condition, and can affect anyone regardless of lifestyle.
