iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

Oh 100%. I have a handful of other words I use for myself in certain spaces that would explicitly be considered slurs, haha. I don't mean them negatively when I describe myself using them but like, that's there. There's a time and a place for it.

Yeah I get that. I think there's space for "actually this is what I mean when I use it" but also "okay I get that it has a negative meaning to you so I won't use it to describe you or others around you" We can have both.

Like, I refer to myself as queer. This makes my father, who was out as gay in the 90s, uncomfortable. I don't refer to him using the word, not that I talk to him at all lol. It's my word for myself.

To me it's like, you're not calling other people yappers, just yourself. It's okay, in my opinion and within reason, to use a word with some negative connotations for yourself. Some people will read those connotations into it and you've gotta be okay with that though.

solving this rn by just never using punctuation again

legitimately 75% of my edits in discord are me going "why the fuck did I put a comma there"

Khorynne Ejinn @khorynne.dev · 6h

you can tell my posts are written by a human because I put so many random unnecessary punctuation marks in there and then look at them later like "what the fuck" my brain breaks thoughts up in nonsensical ways; it will continue to happen

YEAH!! It's still funky in some places. half of the store still deadnames me _in the same field_ that it shows my name on other pages. Still, incredibly relieved to have this dealt with. fucking hysterical that SE has acted by far the fasted on this of every step of the process so far.

holy shit they move fast. giving it a bit to make sure everything shows up but like, damn! Annoyed that I had to do this but also props to SE for doing it so fast

anyway, now I'm sending a copy of my old license and my name change to their support in hopes that they'll fix it and then I can continue the process. it's just.... blehhh. sudden excitement crash and a lot of negative emotions bleeding through the cracks I thought I had addressed.

the further I've gotten in transition, the more I'm surprised by how "I don't care about this, it's fine, it's whatever" was just a fucking lie I told myself. I'd rather not play the game if it's gonna be tied to a dead guy. good thing it's therapy day.

it's such a silly feeling but like, bleh. the spiral over being hit with my deadname multiple times in the process of setting up the FFXI free trial really took _all_ the wind out of my sails today.

Btw if you read this and immediately thought “well not all men”… pause for a second. The men I trust are the ones who read what I just wrote and choose to listen, to empathize, to ask questions to better understand. They know they are not the men I am angry about and they don’t need say so.

For folks who were utilizing the Best Western block, our apologies but due to ongoing repair work that keeps having delays they will not be able to honor the reservations there. An email has now gone out from them with relocation instructions.

I literally don’t know a single woman who hasn’t been raped, stalked, groped, harassed, or sexually violated in some way at some point in their life. If you choose to doubt and dox survivors, just know every woman in your life is disgusted by you.
