In The Print – King’s Head Theatre, London
Photo credit - Charlie Flint Robert Khan and Tom Salinsky have sharpened their pencils once again to scribe another political drama following on from their success with ‘The Gang of Three.’ The play is set in 1986/87 during a difficult period for print workers when Rupert Murdoch took on the unions, by sacking the unionised workforce on Fleet Street, moving his News International production to Wapping using new, less labour intense methods of production, with no unions.

As a journalist (and one-time NUJ deputy father of chapel), I found Robert Khan & Tom Salinsky’s play, In The Print, at the King’s Head Theatre a fascinating and compelling account of the 1980s Wapping dispute. Claudia Jolly stands out as the tough and tenacious Brenda Dean.

Marvellous seeing ‘The Gang of Three’ at the King’s Head Theatre just before its run ends. Splendid cast of three painting a compelling portrait of Machiavellian tendencies from each big beast on their ruthless, restless struggle for power. Great, very simple set design to boot.

It might be sold out now but I strongly recommend The Gang of Three (Jenkins, Crosland, Healey) at the King's Head in Islington. Top-drawer political drama with three very fine performances. Ideas and movements matter in politics obvs but I think the crunch points always come down to personalities.

The Gang Of Three, a new play at the King's Head Theatre, follows the political machinations of Healey, Jenkins & Crosland during the '70s. Filled with camp, catty back and forth insults, it's filled with contemporary Tory parallels and three commanding performances. Nice to be out by 9pm too
