I'm not familiar with CachyOS but I think installing `realtime-privileges` or turning Allow Untrusted URLs off (with `proton-rtsp-11.0-20260609-4` from SpookySkeletons) may fix. I'll also add settings for player backend & codec to the KewlGear in a future update to help w this sort of thing <3

@siberionhusky.bsky.social thanks pup for some great testing and insight! @spiro.ooo check your DMs, I did some tests of my own and was able to narrow down the issue. tldr; with Allow Untrusted URLs on, you need realtime audio enabled on Linux since it streams via Unity Player prefab and not AVPro.

i'll give it a test myself. I wonder if maybe the audio encoding could also be causing issues, I'll do some tests with different encoding & player prefab configurations on Linux and see if one fixes it thanks for letting me know about this!

oof yeah that is unplayable :( the world uses video players to stream audio so it has to do with that. as you know VRChat itself doesn't support Linux... I'm also a Linux user but had to switch to Windows for a few months to work on the world since VRCSDK blocks build and test on Linux -_-

But it's a yt-dlp bug affecting any VRChat world that uses video players </3 The Version 2.0 update adds multiple audio streams for music and ambient sounds which should hopefully fix this. You can check that out when it drops later next week on September 5th.

this should improve in the next update, rewrote my audio system using @texel.bsky.social 's wonderful video player prefabs and using multiple backup URLs for bgm (including more reliable audio for users with "Allow Untrusted URLs" off)... wish me luck cuz the update has a whole second sountrack lol
