I couldn't get tickets to the world premiere of Frankenstein in Imax. They sold out in milliseconds. My only choice was to get there 40 minutes early and wait in the standby line. Guillermo del Toro walked by, saw me waiting, and had his team give me one of his personal guest tickets.

Turkey update! I knew going in to getting poults that turkeys are pretty dumb. I did not know how determined to kill themselves they were. I also didn't know how charming and curious turkeys are. These are all destined for Thanksgiving/Christmas dinners, but i think want to get heritage breeds

Caught a criminal in the chicken coop yesterday. He was eating eggs. Safely relocated to a forest far enough away he shouldn't come back, I don't mind losing a few eggs but the young chickens will be in the coop soon and skunks can be dangerous to little guys.

I've been ruminating on gender feels since MFF. I think I'm incredibly bothered by the constant she/her at cons because they're supposed to be a welcoming space. It's hard to not be gendered at work, I put up with it because it's a lot of old people and I'm in spreadsheets for 90% of my day anyway
