Bold to to try and persuade a generation who've experienced nothing but decline and retrospective interest rate changes (student loans) to participate in a scheme reliant on the economy eventually improving, and them affording the interest the govt will charge

Had a miserable and tough week/ fortnight. Saw a friend and they brought a vintage copy of a book with my favourite illustrator's work in after finding it second hand 'just because' with no knowledge of the miserable stuff. 🥹 Faith restored

This is a really stark graph. And strongly suggests that the cost of housing is the main factor causing young people to remain with their parents (not choice, culture, lack of partner or online living - all of which I've heard suggested as alternative explanations)

An ex-student stopped me whilst walking my dog to tell me he's in year 10 now and he chose History as one of his options and to say hi. I do wish secondary teaching provided better work conditions at times

When you look at how much is spent on housing benefit that subsidises the private rent industry vs the amount being spent on new house builds this becomes a pretty obvious position to take. It's not rent controls *or* new builds - the two must be implemented together

Oh no Dolly Parton died. She gave one book a month to each enrolled child from birth until they enter kindergarten. Her Imagination Library gave books each month to 850,000 children in US, Canada, tUK, Australia, Ireland.In February 2018, she donated her 100 millionth free book. Thank you Dolly
