getting my kids into pokemon has pulled me back into it as well. i haven't played since legends arceus came out. this week i replayed LA, and finished the hisui dex. i also picked up a mid-way playthrough of LG:E and finished it, then finished a kanto living dex.

We had an interesting Christmas this year. Miska (my wife, if you don't know her) had pancreatitis and was in the hospital for 10 days, including Christmas Eve/Day. 10 days in hospital. Private room. Morphine shots for pain, then an epidural for like 6 days. Food & drink. Total cost: about 100 USD.

did very casual (1 night/week) prog through parts of ARR/HW/SB with friends. some cleared tiers on-content, some only partially cleared, some not even attempted. in ShB i only played a bit of the first tier. in EW i joined a more serious static for the first two tiers + DSR/TOP on-content.

One interesting thing with the push towards generative AI in the games industry by execs is that it feels like the players pretty universally (other than the AI-knob-gobblers ofc) don't want it. That said: there are valuable pipeline tools that are "AI". We just used to call them machine learning.
