"The idea that an organization that is an alternative host—for email, websites, and other services—could be designated a terrorist organization simply for providing a service that a lot of people want…is scary," EFF’s @jillian.bsky.social told @reason.com.

Rubio uses terrorism law to ban secure email service
The State Department doesn’t accuse Autistici/Inventati of doing anything more than providing surveillance-free email accounts. But that’s enough to declare it a terrorist organization.

The US is targeting the anarchist collective that hosts the popular Noblogs wordpress platform as terrorists. This is truly batshit (as are their various obvious lies about Rose City Antifa etc). This is a HUGE attack on basic free speech. www.state.gov/releases/off...

Here's some of the coverage of Ecklund as a religious "fanatic." Some info also points to him being the same guy from Seattle involved at one point with the IWW, but clearly his beliefs (and possibly mental health) had changed over time.

There’s a lot of bad information out there about the Saints Peter and Paul church bombings, but the evidence I’ve seen points to the bomber being an actual “street preacher,” e.g. an Evangelical Protestant, not an anarchist.

The Trump admin's latest strategy to mass generate removal orders is diabolical: - Take a huge group of people with hearings scheduled in late 2026, 2027, or 2028. - Send them a physical letter rescheduling all of their cases to next week. - Those who inevitably miss court get ordered deported.

Deportation Orders Soar in NYC as Trump 'Mega Master' Hearings Accelerate
A new report finds removal orders for people who missed hearings more than doubled in New York City in June, as a new tactic of hastily scheduled court dates rolled out.

Fascinating. He (and Travaglio) really need more research—writing about them was very difficult because of the lack of existing work. (And, at the time, lack of digitized newspapers.) The crossover between Italian radical republicanism and anarchism seems strange today, but was once very common.

Uninterested in leading a pile-on but no, AI does not “have access” to everything ever published. Not archival material, obviously, but not secondary material either. Nor across times nor languages. AI is not human knowledge personified. It’s exactly not that, in fact. It’s not even a search engine.
