The alt text for this photo should be: Two legends in their respective industries, united to discuss the most important topics in web dev: CSS, JS and whether that sweater is itchy. Kevin is awesome and I am a Syntax fan! Keep up the good work.

Walking my 1-year-old to sleep this afternoon. Stepped into some shade, cool breeze hit my back, and suddenly I was a kid again, sitting in that same kind of shade and breeze, playing Pokémon on my Gameboy. Pure happiness, no reason needed. Funny how the body remembers before the mind catches up.

On this year’s #StateOfCSS survey, I could proudly mention that I have used 20 features, and knew 20 more mainly thanks to following @kevinpowell.co's YouTube channel. You can also take the survey here: survey.devographics.com/survey/state...

First Shopify project shipped. Went in a bit blind but the Rails templating I do daily made Liquid click faster than expected. The logic is surprisingly similar. Started from a purchased theme but there was plenty of custom work. luxelle.online

I've somehow only now realized that if you want to transition between themes, view transitions make it incredibly easy... Translates like I did here are a bit over the top, but clip-path opens up some fun possibilities.

Just launched some 🔥 updates for zwartopwit.be using Rails + Turbo Frames with flow parameters. Used Turbo Frames to conditionally load modular sections for: – The new car wrap landing page – Updated folder options page Really impressed by how powerful Turbo can be.

✨ In my upcoming animations course, we build an intuition for Bézier curves with a mini-game: your job is to get your green ball to have the same easing as the pink ball, by dragging and adjusting the curve:

It was pointed out to me that you can assign elements tags... they've added an "accessibility" menu, and in there, you can add tags. So, they thought about it, and then hid it in a menu most people will never look at (including the people who made their Config site, and official templates).
Accessibility menu in Figma Sites, which allows you to assign a tag to a selected element. The accessibility menu, once you select "tag", showing paragraph and heading levels.

During my livestream yesterday, I talked about Figma Sites for a little bit. I've broken it off into a short, stand-alone video. I don't normally like bashing a company, but when a company of Figma's size makes a product this bad, I think it's important to call them out on it. youtu.be/ZsFIvULxkHI
