Ive been catching these on yt, and Spencer is introducing helpful ideas i’d otherwise just never run into. At minimum, crystallization of patterns you’ve already noticed about the ways folks think and behave. Rare example of shortform videos i’d actually recommend someone!

As soon as the battle ends and exits turn based mode, TURN IT BACK ON! We won the fight 2x but didnt turn our AoE stuff off fast enough, so the harpers ran ahead and aggro’d us after the fight was over lol. Turn based mode was the only way to do it fast enough.

Number go up! Clicker/tycoon style games, idle games, etc. Started as parodies of game progression mechanics, but the most successful now use distilled versions of the same retention strategies they are parodying. Games that start arguments about whether they are games.

First time GMing, my players barely made it through a geyser field full of ambush monsters. Made it to a nearby village and considered robbing a magic item shop, til they learned it was run by children scavenging gear from dead adventurers in the geysers. Changed their mind for fear of their power!

Our little buddy was losing the fight too fast, and we had to let him pass today. His last moments were warm and happy with us. Thank you to anyone who helped. This was one of the hardest weeks of my life, and it’s thanks to the kindness of strangers that we can keep our heads above the water. 🥲
