A USBH project member is helping me sort out how a cluster of my DNA matches relate to one of my NPE 2ggfs. They have a similarly named person in their trees but he went from AL to NJ. I wondered how he'd leave a kid but I found my 2ggf's death cert that shows he lived in AL but died in AR (short 🧵)

I may have discovered that I'm a double-Ruffin. DNA showed that my paternal grandma had a different dad; I had to tell my aunt and uncle. It appears that "New Grandpa" descended from a woman who was on Henry J G Ruffin's plantation, now I gotta tell them they're related to my maternal grandad, too
