i first met sam neill in the late 80's on the set of jeremy brett's sherlock holmes. i think it was manchester studios. he and jeremy were pals. i was moving a light wi'out gloves cause i'm a tosser. i burned my hand. yelled "FUCK!" jeremy came right over, sam (who was visiting) in tow. (1/4)

Devastated to hear this. Sam Neil was one of my all time favourite actors. His performance in possibly my favourite film ever, The Dish, has me watching time and time again. He seemed like a really lovely guy, RIP top fella.

A ticket for the stand at Clearways on the Saturday race day cost 42 shillings, and included admission to practice and any stand on those days plus paddock access… I was so lucky.

First GP I went to; went to all three days. I was called out of class at school on the Thursday, and my dad was there to pick me up and take me. The whole thing was an amazing experience, and I went to all three days for the next 25 years.

I also had my first ever race there on the short circuit and did the GP circuit too, both in my Historic Formula Junior Cooper T56. Did a track day on the GP circuit too in my huge old Ferrari. Love that place

Brilliant circuit! I went to every GP and associated practice days, plus all bar one of the Race of Champions and the very sad Victory Race. Well remember watching the Reuteman overtake but not as happily as as you as I was a Lauda supporter
