Kelsy - formerly Faiako @kelsy.co.nz · 03/10/2026Hahaha I think possibly stubbornness masquerading as patience! 010
Kelsy - formerly Faiako @kelsy.co.nz · 03/10/2026Doing a #garmentsewing test at the moment, two very cool patterns that will both I think have a place in my wardrobe long term. But jeeeeeez spaghetti straps?! 190
Kelsy - formerly Faiako @kelsy.co.nz · 30/09/2026Finished the third Dungeon Crawler Carl, nearly finished Emma M Lion volume 3. And I've got Dirty Work and a royal scandal type book waiting for me (the royal scandal one is an assignment from my elderly mate at the park haha) 010
Kelsy - formerly Faiako @kelsy.co.nz · 30/09/2026We frequently carry on down the creek at the moment, to check on Mrs Goose from the park (she seems to have made her way down in search of love and got stranded (insert 'Where the hell is my Husband' here). Yestrday we also found a PENGUIN (who was collected by the colony). And ducklings. #nzbirds 0112

Kelsy - formerly Faiako @kelsy.co.nz · 30/09/2026Thank you! They're actually quite similar to the #sewhouse7oxbowpants, which I also had stashed and used the waistband of. Of the two, I would recommend the Oxbows as a better baseline pre adjustment fit. I wish I'd realised how similar they were earlier on haha. Still a good outcome. 100
Kelsy - formerly Faiako @kelsy.co.nz · 28/09/2026Thank you! I'm very pleased, I was desperate to use the fabric to maximal effect haha 010
Kelsy - formerly Faiako @kelsy.co.nz · 28/09/2026Oh boy oh boy I've made the most extra pair of jeans I've ever owned #garmentsewing These are made in Liberty denim and they're mostly the #truebiaslanderpants, but with the curved waistband from #sewhouse7oxbowpants. Also I adjusted the hell out of them, they have a pretty challenging crotch. 7350
Kelsy - formerly Faiako @kelsy.co.nz · 28/09/2026Buy my scraps! I've turned them into gorgeous tags. 171
Kelsy - formerly Faiako @kelsy.co.nz · 26/09/2026Hahaha surprise flat felled seams ARE appalling tbh. I'm about to voluntarily do them on a pair of jeans, I may regret this 😂😂 100
Kelsy - formerly Faiako @kelsy.co.nz · 26/09/2026#garmentsewing project coming up... #truebiaslanderpants. This is Liberty denim 💀💀 I adjusted the absolute daylights out of this pattern and I'm looking forward to this pair of jeans. I think I'm even mentally committing to flat felling the seams ... 0221
Kelsy - formerly Faiako @kelsy.co.nz · 26/09/2026Thank you! I honestly love doing those even though they're more steps than I'd like 😂 100
Kelsy - formerly Faiako @kelsy.co.nz · 25/09/2026Detail and inside pictures! I love making shirts 👀 collars and plackets and cuffs, oh my (no cuff on this iteration though). This is such nice soft cotton. Flat felled and fully finished throughout. Handmade Liberty tag. #garmentsewing 2141
Kelsy - formerly Faiako @kelsy.co.nz · 22/09/2026Here's another of my #garmentsewing outfit videos. Things I've been wearing in September. We're coming into spring in NZ now and yeeeeeah It's very evident I have seasonal faves 😂 Loafs of #greenstyle, #sewhouse7 and #fibremood featuring this month. 0131
Kelsy - formerly Faiako @kelsy.co.nz · 21/09/2026Today I might just cut out my final Landers in this Liberty denim. This was a real Find at the Fabricabrac, and so funny because I'd been eyeing up that denim when it was for sale retail. I managed to talk myself out of it then regretted it 😂 got it in the end! #truebiaslanderpants #garmentsewing 0130

Kelsy - formerly Faiako @kelsy.co.nz · 21/09/2026I had this fun, wafty sort of macrame mesh that I'd picked up at the destash sale. And I've had the idea stuck in my head about a fashiony tabard. The #fibremoodhodatop filled the brief pretty well. I went rogue on the instructions and bound the whole thing with FOE. Surprisingly little fuss. 0100
Kelsy - formerly Faiako @kelsy.co.nz · 20/09/2026Thank you! Next on list is a kind of lacy macrame tabard layer that will slot in well too 👀 110
Kelsy - formerly Faiako @kelsy.co.nz · 20/09/2026I finally got on the bandwagon and sewed up a #sewhouse7remyraglan. With the gathered sleeves. This is lovely lightweight cotton and will do nicely for summer! It didn't take as much fabric as expected, even with the extra big sleeves. Only 1.8m on narrow loom cotton. 1130
Kelsy - formerly Faiako @kelsy.co.nz · 18/09/2026The other thing I have been turning Liberty scraps into: scent sachets. Very low waste if you're open to irregular shapes. Long life laundry scent beads in them, you know the ones that are pretty rough on your washing machine but smell outrageously good 👀 scrap busting woo! #sewing 280
Kelsy - formerly Faiako @kelsy.co.nz · 17/09/2026I've been enjoying cutting my tiniest liberty scraps into very cute tags. I do a batch up every so often between projects, then I've got a nice stack to sew in, no muss no fuss #garmentsewing 0160
Kelsy - formerly Faiako @kelsy.co.nz · 16/09/2026That fabric is gorgeous! I have this pattern, but have yet to make it. 👀 I bet it's going to be sooo good. 010
Kelsy - formerly Faiako @kelsy.co.nz · 16/09/2026Thank you! I love wearing it. I want a black or other dark colour double gauze one next, very easy to put in an outfit! 000
Kelsy - formerly Faiako @kelsy.co.nz · 16/09/2026I made up another #patternemporiumonrepeat woven tee. I had only a short length of this fabric and I was delighted to get this out of 1.1m. I could have done longer sleeves but I wanted to try the short. It really feels like a tshirt, I love it. And such a pleasant speedy sew #garmentsewing 2200
Kelsy - formerly Faiako @kelsy.co.nz · 15/09/2026I've picked up the beginnings of two new series both with huge loud fandoms but very very different lol.. The Unselected Journals of Emma M Lion, and Dungeon Crawler Carl. I'm enjoying both so far 110
Kelsy - formerly Faiako @kelsy.co.nz · 11/09/2026Beloved of civic building soft furnishings the world over 😂 010
Kelsy - formerly Faiako @kelsy.co.nz · 10/09/2026I made up the new #patternemporiumonrepeat woven tee. This is a toile (hence this oddball fabric.. reminds me of 90s bus seat covers) which had a few purposes. Fit, ofc, but also I tried a full bicep adjustment. I would say reasonably successful. I love the boatneck. I want armscye one size bigger. 1130
Kelsy - formerly Faiako @kelsy.co.nz · 09/09/2026Sounds lovely! There's a ceramicist on Instagram who makes these enormous round rolling instruments. So neat 010
Kelsy - formerly Faiako @kelsy.co.nz · 09/09/2026Okay amazing!! I was obsessed with the duck callers when I was a kid. A ceramic one is soooo neat 100
Kelsy - formerly Faiako @kelsy.co.nz · 09/09/2026The male and female calls are DEFINITELY at different parties too 😂 130
Kelsy - formerly Faiako @kelsy.co.nz · 09/09/2026Little mum 🥹🥹 I think she's been laying since about Aug 13 or maybe a bit earlier! I'm reasonably sure that we're closer to the hatch end of incubation (31 days) so I'm also wondering if they have their chicks eat some downy feathers when they're wee for digestive purposes, like grebes. 011
Kelsy - formerly Faiako @kelsy.co.nz · 09/09/2026Love this! Love the big flowers. I always stubbornly wear my newly made summer dresses into autumn 😅 also love a fleece stocking. 111
Kelsy - formerly Faiako @kelsy.co.nz · 08/09/2026Here's a lovely Ngaire video (to convince you to vote pūtangitangi!). She was going hard on ruffling up her feathers this morning. Once she was done she flew back to the nest on the island. Maybe nest lining? +She's started making a sweet chirpy new sound. Māmā voice? Vote: www.birdoftheyear.org.nz 281

Kelsy - formerly Faiako @kelsy.co.nz · 02/09/2026Okay so we want some duckling content, right? First ducklings at the park!! And Ngaire and Lefty are definitely nesting, possibly since as early as Aug 13, so their little cutie humbugs aren't far off. Two of the Goldie sisters AWOL too so I suspect we might have little yellow babes coming. 🪶🇳🇿 182
Kelsy - formerly Faiako @kelsy.co.nz · 02/09/2026Haha thank you! I was planning to just finish and take to the op shop but I fear I'm getting attached 👀 I'm making the final copy out of the all time coolest denim I've ever seen and I'm like do I need two flamboyant pairs of these? Honestly, maybe 120
