Statement from Everett Kelley: ICE agents are not trained or certified in aviation security. TSA officers spend months learning to detect explosives, weapons, and threats specifically designed to evade detection at checkpoints — skills that require specialized instruction, hands-on practice, and ongoing recertification. You cannot improvise that. Putting untrained personnel at security checkpoints does not fill a gap. It creates one.

On Sunday, John Thune told Trump that Senate Republicans would support funding all of DHS except ICE. ICE funding could be handled later in a reconciliation bill. TSA agents would get their paychecks and the security-line madness at airports would end. Trump said NO. He owns all of this chaos.
