Is it conceivable that printed books and encyclopaedias from before AI may become quite sought after and valuable as reliable sources of information in the near future?

My latest books cartoon for @theguardian.com
A cartoon in which the speech bubbles are categorised by colour.

Panel 1: A man cooks dinner for a woman who is looking at his bookshelves.
He calls from the kitchen"I hope you're not judging me on my bookshelves?" (Blue)
She replies "Haha, no!" (Orange)

Panel 2: She takes a book off the shelf and asks
"Have you read all of these?" (Blue)
He replies "Of course!" (Orange)

Panel 3: she leafs through the book and asks
"Can I borrow this?' (Blue)
He replies "Sure, I love lending my books!" (Orange)

The key below explains that Blue represents a question and orange represents a lie.

The clay flask from Palaikastro (top right in my previous post) is one of the most iconic vases of the ‘Marine Style’ and a masterpiece of the Minoan potter’s art during the New Palace period, around the middle of the 2nd millennium BC. Photo by me. More info: ca.heraklionmuseum.gr/ca/pawtucket...
My photo shows the front of a warm-yellow coloured Minoan clay flask, with black hand painted decoration depicting an octopus swimming diagonally with eight sucker-lined arms writhing over the surface of the flask. It stares out at the viewer with wide, almost cartoon-like eyes. Additional decorative motifs include sea urchins, tritons, small rocks and seaweed. Minoan decoration depicting sea motifs is known by scholars as ‘Marine Style’. The flask was excavated in 1903 at a Bronze Age settlement site at Palaikastro, East Crete. The Palaikastro excavations were carried out between 1902 and 1906 by the British School of Athens. The flask is part of the collections at Heraklion Archaeological Museum, Heraklion, Crete.

🐢 #DYK leatherback turtles return to the UK each summer to feed on jellyfish off our coast 🌊 Turtles have been around for millions years. But today, they’re facing unprecedented threats. It's up to us to turn this around. We need true ocean protection for our marine life. #WorldTurtleDay

Characterful Lewis Chessmen! 12th-century chess pieces with wonderfully expressive eyes! 👀 From a large gaming hoard found on the Isle of Lewis, Scotland, in 1831. National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh 📷 by me #MedievalMonday #Archaeology
My photo collage shows four finely carved chess pieces. They are creamy beige in colour against a warm beige display case surface at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh. They are dated c. AD 1150-1200.

Top Left - warder chess piece, standing, wearing a long garment and conical helmet. He holds a drawn sword in his right hand, in his left, a long, kite-shaped shield. Carved from sperm whale tooth. Height 9.3 cm x 4.3 cm wide.

Top Right- warder chess piece, also known as a ‘berserker’. Standing, wearing a long garment and conical helmet. He holds a drawn sword in his right hand in front of a large kite-shaped shield which he holds in front of this body. He has large, wide eyes. He is biting the top of his shield with his large upper teeth. Carved from Walrus Ivory. Height 8.2 cm x 3.9 cm wide.

Bottom Left - Queen chess piece seated on a throne, cradling her face in her right hand. She wears a crown, and a long cloak over a long dress. Carved from Walrus ivory. Height 9.5 cm x 5.1 cm wide

Just looked at my profile on another site and everything about that site was so 😬 I had to visit my profile here that is so peaceful and filled with much that soothes my soul. Probably doesn't make sense to most people, but for the first time in my life it feels like I am truly myself here. 🌊🪸📖🦄

In the Dunhuang murals of the Mogao Caves, the Nine-Colored Deer (九色鹿) glows between legend and faith: white-antlered, many-hued, and wise enough to speak like a human. Though born from Indian Buddhist lore, it became beloved in Northern Wei China as a sacred guardian 1/3

Toorop designed this poster in 1894 for an oil manufacturer in Delft. The graceful lines and bold shapes were so new and striking that the advertising message nearly fades into the background. No wonder Dutch Art Nouveau earned the nickname ‘salad oil style’. 🥬 👁️ id.rijksmuseum.nl/200399428

Cerbère-Banyuls just passed its 5-year Blue Parks review. Inside the reserve, fish are larger, biomass is higher, and protection is actively enforced with 1,100+ hours of monitoring each year. Proof that effective ocean protection is built to last. #BlueParks #30x30 #EnduringBlueParks
